Data Sources

New Rates Tracker uses the following data sources for exchange rate information:

Primary API: fawazahmed0/exchange-api — a free, open-source currency exchange rate API providing daily-updated mid-market rates for 150+ world currencies. Data is sourced from aggregated foreign exchange market data.

Historical data: Date-versioned snapshots from the same API, allowing us to provide historical charts and past exchange rate data going back to the API's inception.

Flag images: flagcdn.com — a free CDN serving country flag images by ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code.

All data is provided as-is for informational purposes. Rates may differ from those offered by banks or money transfer services.
